My name is Roddy Bergeron. I’m a 20 year resident of Lafayette where I am employed as the Chief Information Security Officer at Enterprise Data Concepts, LLC, a local small business started by one of Lafayette’s own. I have the pleasure of sharing my life with my wife, Megan Bergeron, and I am a father to two darling girls, Emma Claire (9 years old) and Isabelle Kate Bergeron (6 years old). Currently, I serve on the Transportation Policy Committee for the Lafayette Metro Area, am a member of the CAFE (Community and Family Engagement) at Carencro High, Lafayette Middle, and Lafayette High School, serve on the executive committee for LaPESC (Lafayette Public Education Stakeholders Council), and am a member of the SLCC IT advisory board, where I’ve helped develop curriculum and pathways for students
Biography
In the past, I’ve served as the chair of the advisory board for the Academy of Information Technology at Carencro High, President of the705 young leaders group, an advocate on the LPSS Opportunity Zone Community Advisory board, and won a Top 20 Under 40 award in 2018 as part of the work I did as a mentor for students at Willow Charter Academy. When Lake Charles was hit with multiple hurricanes, I helped start the “Laptops for Lake Charles” program, where myself, along with several students from Carencro High, refurbished almost 200 Chromebooks for students to continue their schooling. I have shown appreciation for the outstanding work of our teachers by participating in the yearly Pin Patrol, assisting with grant programs for classrooms, co-creating a scholarship for students to attend SLCC, and helping with supply drives so their students are ready to learn. My love for our public school system runs deep, and I’m dedicated to the success of every single student in our community.
